Death of a Pioneer – Hermanus Hondorp
Hermanus Hondorp of Graham street, died last Friday, at the age of 70 years. For over a half century he has been a resident here and was well known by many. His illness was brief. He is survived by a widow, two sons and three daughters. Funeral services were held on Monday from the Fifth Reformed church of which he was a charter and an honored member. It was his intention at one time to remain at his cottage at Central Park all winter, as he loved the life there. But he changed his mind only recently.
The deceased has been with the Sherwood-Hall company for 43 years, and they closed their store in respect to his memory on the day of the funeral.
